Rubins was the Spring 1997 Artist-in-residence at Artpace, an organization founded by collector Linda Pace in San Antonio, Texas; it was there Rubins created the monumental piece for the site’s courtyard. It was later moved to Linda Pace’s residence, before arriving at its present site in the sculpture garden of Ruby City’s contemporary art center in San Antonio, Texas.
